The Situation
You sleep and wake tired. You take the week off and come back the same. You leave the job, the flat, the relationship - and whatever this is comes with you. Ordinary tiredness lifts when its cause is removed; this does not, and that is what separates it from being run down.
The things people mention alongside it are consistent enough to be worth listing: sleep that breaks at the same hour, irritability with no target, a run of small illnesses that never quite gets diagnosed, and a reluctance to be at home that they feel slightly ashamed of.
What Accumulates and Where It Comes From
Almost none of it is aimed at you. That is the first thing the assessment usually establishes, and it is a relief to most people, because they have been half-suspecting someone.
What builds up is residue: the atmosphere of a difficult workplace absorbed over three years, the weight of a loss that was never given room, what you pick up from a person you cannot avoid seeing weekly, the leftovers of a period you got through by not feeling much. None of it was directed and all of it stays.
What Changes Afterwards
Duller than most descriptions of it. Nobody reports fireworks and I would be wary of a practitioner whose clients did.
Sleep comes back first, usually within the first fortnight. After that, the sense that a room you spend time in is a room again rather than something you brace against on the way in.
The more useful change is slower: people start noticing which situations drain them, which had been invisible while everything drained them equally. It is hard to protect yourself from something you can only feel afterwards.
What This Will Not Do
It does not stop the accumulation resuming. If the source is still active and still in your life - a person you see every week, a place you return to, a role you have not left - this clears what is there and the report says plainly what will refill it. Some of these end with a recommendation for protection work rather than a repeat of this.
And it is not a treatment for anything medical. If the picture is closer to persistent low mood, loss of interest and exhaustion, please see a doctor first. I will tell you the same thing if you order, and I would rather tell you here.
