Signs a Love Spell Is Working

One of the most common questions I receive after completing a casting is: how do I know if it’s working?

It’s a fair question. Unlike taking medicine, where you can measure a fever dropping or track an infection clearing, the results of spell work tend to emerge in subtler ways — at least initially. Knowing what to look for makes the difference between patient observation and anxious second-guessing.

Here are the signs I tell my clients to watch for, and what they typically mean.

Early Signs — Days 1 to 7

A sudden sense of calm about the situation. One of the first things many clients report is that the obsessive, looping anxiety about the situation begins to quiet. They’re not constantly checking their phone. They’re sleeping better. This isn’t just psychological — it’s often one of the first indicators that the energy around the situation is shifting.

Dreams involving the person. Vivid, emotionally significant dreams about the person the spell concerns are extremely common in the early days after a casting. The dream content matters less than the vividness and emotional weight. This often indicates that the energetic work is connecting.

Unexpected thoughts from their direction. Some clients describe a sudden, inexplicable feeling that the other person is thinking about them — before any contact is made. This is difficult to verify externally, but it’s reported consistently enough that I take it seriously.

Middle Signs — Days 7 to 21

Indirect contact. The other person likes an old photo on social media. A mutual friend mentions your name out of nowhere. They show up somewhere you regularly are. These “coincidences” are often the first external evidence of energetic movement.

Direct but cautious contact. A text that doesn’t say much — “hey” or “I’ve been thinking about you.” The content matters less than the fact that they initiated. That’s the spell working.

Changes in their behavior around mutual connections. Friends report that the person has been asking about you, or that they seem different lately — softer, more reflective, less certain about the distance they created.

Stronger Signs — Days 21 to 45

Renewed conversation. The contact that began tentatively starts becoming more consistent. Longer messages. Questions about your life. A willingness to engage that wasn’t there before.

An expressed desire to talk or meet. They ask to call, or suggest getting together — framing it as “catching up” or “just to talk.” This is significant.

Emotional openness. They begin addressing what happened between you, expressing regret, or acknowledging that they’ve been thinking about things differently. This level of shift usually indicates the core energetic work has taken hold.

What If You’re Not Seeing Any Signs?

The situation is complex. A long no-contact period, a new relationship, or strong external pressure can slow the process significantly. This doesn’t mean the work isn’t happening.

You’re too close to it. Sometimes the shifts are there, but anxiety and attachment make them hard to notice. Go back through your interactions with this person over the past two weeks and look for small things you may have dismissed.

More time is needed. Some castings work on a longer timeline. I typically advise clients not to draw conclusions before six weeks have passed.

Additional work may be needed. If you’re past six weeks with no movement at all, it’s worth reassessing — either with additional casting, a different type of ritual, or an honest conversation about whether the conditions for this particular situation are present.

What Not to Do While Waiting

The most common mistake clients make after a casting: they get impatient and take action that undermines the work.

Sending a barrage of messages. Making a dramatic declaration. Showing up unannounced. Asking mutual friends to intervene. All of these inject anxious, desperate energy into a situation the spell is trying to calm.

The principle is simple: cast the intention, then step back. Do not act from fear. Act from your normal, grounded self — and when you do reach out, do it from a place of calm rather than need.

Patience and Perspective

Spell work is not a vending machine. You don’t insert a coin and receive a result in 60 seconds. It works with energy — and energy moves in its own rhythm.

What I’ve seen consistently, across many cases, is that the process unfolds in layers. First an internal shift (in you and in the situation’s energy), then subtle external signs, then more obvious ones. Clients who stay grounded, patient, and observant through this process consistently report better outcomes than those who spend the entire time in a state of anxious watching.
