Almost nobody in this industry answers this question directly, which is itself informative. Prices sit behind a “free consultation” that exists mainly to find out how desperate you sound before quoting.
So here are the actual ranges, what sits behind them, and where the traps are.
What the market actually charges
$5-50 - marketplace listings. Fiverr and similar platforms. Hundreds of sellers, brutal price competition. Some are genuine practitioners building reviews; many are running volume with templates. At $10, you’re buying ten dollars of attention, and that’s not a moral judgement - it’s arithmetic.
$1-10 per minute - advisor platforms. Keen, Kasamba, Purple Garden and others. Live chat or call, billed by the minute. The platform takes 50-70%, which means your reader is receiving a fraction of what you pay, and has a structural incentive for the conversation to continue.
$150-800 - independent practitioners. A named person with a history, a real practice, and time spent on individual cases. This is where most serious solo work sits.
$1,000-5,000+ - “high ticket”. Multi-week programmes, VIP framing, often sold over a call. Some of this is legitimate work at a premium. A lot of it is the same service as the tier below with better sales copy.
Why free is usually the most expensive
The most costly thing in this industry is almost always the thing that started free.
The pattern: a free reading, then a diagnosis of something serious, then a fix that costs money, then a complication that costs more, then another. People who set out to spend nothing routinely end up several hundred or several thousand down, one “the blockage is stronger than expected” at a time.
If you take one thing from this article: a fixed price quoted upfront, even a high one, is safer than a low price that can move. The number matters less than whether it can change after you’ve paid.
Why expensive isn’t automatically better
The other trap runs in the opposite direction.
There’s no relationship between what someone charges and what they can do. Price in this field is set by positioning - by how the offer is packaged and who it’s aimed at - not by capability. A $2,000 programme is not ten times the work of a $200 ritual. It’s usually the same work with more calls, more branding, and a sales process designed to make the number feel inevitable.
Be especially careful when a high price is paired with a phone call. Nobody honest needs to talk you into this.
A price that changes when you sound desperate is not a price. It is a negotiation about how much you can bear.
What you’re actually paying for
Time, mostly.
A three-card reading is around an hour: laying the cards, reading them properly, writing it up. A full spread is two or three. A multi-week ritual is exactly that - returning to the same working at specific times across days or weeks, which is why serious ritual work costs more than a reading and takes longer than an evening.
If someone offers a “powerful casting” delivered in twenty minutes, you’re paying for twenty minutes.
What should be included at any price
Regardless of what you’re spending:
- An assessment before the work, so you know whether it’s the right service at all
- A clear description of what will be done - how long, what’s involved, what you’ll receive
- Something in writing afterwards recording what was performed
- A stated refund policy you can read and understand
- A reversible payment method - card or PayPal, not gift cards or crypto
- A fixed price that cannot change once you’ve paid
If any of these are missing, the price is not the thing to be worrying about.
You are paying for time and attention. If neither is included, you are paying for a receipt.
Questions worth asking before you pay
What exactly will you do, and over how many days? - vagueness here is usually concealment.
Is this the final price? - get it in writing.
What happens if nothing changes? - an honest answer includes “sometimes nothing does”.
Are there cases you turn down? - anyone who says no is running a shop, not a practice.
What I charge
$24 for a short reading answering one question. $47-97 for full readings. $97-247 for ritual work depending on length and complexity.
Every price is listed on the site and on each service page before you commit. The price never changes after you order. There is no consultation to discover what you’ll be charged, and no situation in which I come back asking for more.
I’m not the cheapest and I’m not trying to be. I’m also not the most expensive, because I’d rather be paid for hours than for positioning.
